I have updated my posting of an open letter to Matt Ridley to show that both he and Prof Anton van der Merwe, his co-author on a paper published to ResearchGate and in The Telegraph last year, each replied to me via email today.

I have not yet replied to them, but when I do, I will ask for permission to publish the correspondence.
