Erich Hartmann & Jessica Hockett (19 January 2022 – 22 March 2022)
In early 2022, Erich Hartmann invited me to do a series of broadcasts/podcasts called Team Reality. Hartmann and I had met in person and were in at least one Twitter Direct Message group together called “Alt Rational Ground.”
Although my “pre-COVID” educator career and academic life included giving hundreds of in-person presentations, I was not (and am not) a professionally-trained or aspiring podcast host. Even so, I was extremely grateful for the opportunity to process what was happening through these discussions. I have not yet listened to every episode again, but I plan to do so. They stand as representations or artifacts of my own thinking, and others’ thinking, about a range of COVID-related topics at the time. Some of my views have changed; others have stayed the same.
I recently asked Hartmann to comment on the impetus for the show, since I could not recall whose idea it was. He replied by email:
Yes, it was my idea. And after we hung out a couple of times in person, I thought you were the perfect “co-host” to hash through these subjects. At the time, we were in the middle of something very historic. I thought it was important to “document” what was going on. And, frankly, you and I were some of the most plugged-in people on the planet. We were more informed — and more correct — than the entirety of the legacy media, and most of the independent media. Even though we aren’t “podcasters” or professionals, we figured out how to do it. And, looking back at our work product, we did a damn good job. And I’m very proud that this is part of the historical record. We absolutely moved the needle, and made a difference.
We recorded 14 episodes in total. An additional broadcast involved me and two Illinois residents. We covered school policies, child masking, vaccine mandates and safety signals, data manipulation involving child deaths and COVID shots, public-health tracking systems, legal challenges, and the credibility of official COVID narratives, with recurring attention to developments in Illinois, California, New York, and other states.
Note: I changed my Twitter handle from @ewoodhouse7 to @Wood_House76 in late 2023 and created a smaller account, @jahockett76, in 2024. Someone else later took over the @ewoodhouse7 handle as a “parody” account. In November 2025, I removed and archived both @Wood_House76 and @jahockett76, and I no longer write on the platform.
