I find the 2019 off-season rise in U.S. all-/natural cause mortality for 75+ very interesting. I’ve highlighted Virginia and North Carolina, but a similar rise occurred in a number of other states too.

I learned many things through interacting with Ethical Skeptic (Roger Cunningham) over several years. At some point, he and I were added to a Twitter DM group called “Intellectual Underground,” which had been formed by the CEO of an internet-related company. I don’t recall the names or identities of all the participants — and I did not retain the chat or any related records — but, if memory serves, the group included at least two members of DRASTIC, Lynn Fynn, Kevin McKernan, and others.
Later, the group was migrated to Signal. I left without explicit notice, circa late 2022, I think, for reasons related to priorities and focus. I may be mistaken about the precise timing or circumstances, however, as I retained no records of the chat and am relying on memory.
Cunningham blocked me on X in mid-2023. I don’t recall the exchange that prompted the block; reviewing my archived tweets doesn’t jog my memory. It may have been within a month or two of this exchange with Justin Hart.
I eventually came to regard aspects of Cunningham’s analyses as mis-directive, and/or otherwise in conflict with my own conclusions, but I have no opinion as to his motive or the degree of intentionality involved and appreciate his public challenges to the state-sponsored narrative during some very dark times. I count John Khademi (@ProfessorAkston), a Cunningham collaborator, as a strong and valuable ad hoc partner on analyzing the U.S. flu surveillance program (acknowledged here) and New York City data (see presentations here and here).
As for the slight rises in all-cause mortality that I observed above, I remain open as to their cause, including the possibility that mortality was simply higher for no discernible reason and/or that the data are manipulated. My view in late 2021 and 2022, which I expressed frequently on X, was that SARS-CoV-2 (whatever it is) was “in” the United States by May 2019, if not earlier, and did not “suddenly spread” in the timeline officials allege.
Re: above tweet – “Removing the healthy shield” is a concept I no longer subscribe to but was a pervasive permitted dissent/counter-narrative view at the time.
