Archiving questions I posed to Phillip W. Magness on the The Freeman Substack version of his 4 October 2025 article “Great Barrington, 5 Years On.” I placed the questions in reader comments, and included them in my 6 October 2025 cross-posting of the article under the Substack account that I removed when I left Substack a few weeks later. Magness did not reply. I later submitted a related FOI to University of Oxford that was denied.

I have some questions. Please forgive me if I missed the answers in what you’ve written above:

1) Who/who all contacted Sunetra Gupta?

2) Why was it decided to contact/invite an academic epidemiologist from the UK, versus others from the US? (Was it – as you suggest – related to her speaking out in media and the UK being home to the Imperial College models?)

3) Who paid for Dr. Gupta’s travel?

4) Can you speak to the meeting between HHS Secretary Azar and “the GBD 3”?
